In the early days of the web, no website was complete without an assortment of colourful, animated and distracting web badges at the bottom of a page. They would sometimes act as ads linking out to other websites or be used for novelty purposes, such as listing awards and accolades the website has achieved. They were also used as part of the PC vs Mac war, where users would proudly display badges noting that their website was Built on a Mac, Built in Notepad etc.

Some web badges were useful, such as ones that detailed which browsers their website was best viewed in, or links to other related websites. A lot of the time, they were collected and displayed as badges of honor, which built upon the personal nature of websites of the 90s - 2000s.
In keeping with that playful era of the web, I've created a set of Mac-themed badges, along with a template which you're more than welcome to use, modify and share. Download the web badge set below.
