About

'Classic Mac' Brief History

In the early 2000's Apple released the last, and most powerful computers that supported Mac OS 9. Unlike most modern operating systems, Mac OS 9 used a minimal amount of hardware resources to run. This allowed professional software suites to take advantage of the extra processing power.

The last Mac OS 9 PPCs were used extensively throughout the music and film industry. Some are still used today for their superior software (most of which is free now), speed and ease of use.

About This Website

The intention of this website is to provide guides and tips for using early Apple computers, and Mac OS 9. Mac OS 9 is still capable of many modern tasks, with an optional distraction free environment. For some, these machines can be the perfect tools to get the job done.
